Jeremiah 6:16 in the Septuagint tells us:
…Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths of the Lord; and see what is the good way, and walk in it, and ye shall find purification for your souls.
According to Vocabulary.com, purification is when things are cleaned and made pure. I like that definition. We need to always be seeking purification ~ cleansing. Striving to walk in the Lord’s ways, striving to be like him, striving to walk in His footsteps, allowing ourselves to be molded and refined for His glory. Cleansed.
Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. If the goal is purification of our mind, will, and emotions, these are the areas we need to be guarding the most.
And do not be conformed by this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good. and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Ro 12:2 KJV)
Beloved, as we draw closer to the end times, and as the spiritual battle lines are being drawn here in America, we need to ask the Lord for the old paths, the good way. He can enable and equip us to make decisions and walk a different path than the world. A better path. Set apart from our sin saturated culture. Perpetually cleansing ourselves spiritually.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for forgiving me for all my unrighteousness today. I plead the Blood of Jesus over myself and my family, and I command any unclean spirits that have attached themselves to me or my family today through any associations with people, things, or any form of media, to be gone from us and our home, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
